Dr. Chia-Yu Chen has been practicing dentistry since 2008.  She earned her DDS from the National Yang-Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2008.  Following graduation, she completed a General Practice Residency and a Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taiwan, providing superior oral health care to her patients that resulted in an overall improvement of the department’s patient satisfaction quotient, and received the Best Clinical Physician Award in 2013. Dr. Chen then pursued her career in the US and completed a Pediatric Dentistry Residency in 2017 at the University Of Maryland School Of Dentistry, gaining experience with treating children under advanced pharmacological behavior management methods. Dr. Chen continued her fellowship program at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry, during which she served as a part time clinical instructor teaching pre-doctoral students and pediatric dental residents at the university, and provided oral health care to pediatric patients at Family Health Centers of Baltimore, West Cecil Health Center, and University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopedic Institute.  Dr. Chen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  She is also a member with good standing with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.  She currently serves in the editorial board committee of Pediatric Dentistry (since 2018), and the clinical guideline workgroup of Evidence-Based Dentistry committee of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Chen loves to work with children with tender, love and care. Providing comfort and guidance during each dental visit for children is her goal.  She’s excited to join Children’s Dental Care and provide excellent and compassionate oral health care service to all patients.  Outside of work, she enjoys spending times with her partner and friends, skiing, hiking, and having fun with her loving kitties, Spot and Nomi!!
